The CEO of Alitalia, Rocco Sabelli, CEO of Robert Solena and CEO of Solena Italy Stefano Bugliosi, signed a letter that mark the intention of Alitalia and Solena to initiate a study on the feasibility of building a plant capable of converting municipal solid wastes (biomasses promiscuous) in a significant portion of the fuel of jet you need the Alitalia aircraft fleetWhat ensures the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and provides a stable supply of fuel for the company of airfares. Present at the signing of the agreement was the excmo. WILLER Bordon, Chairman of Enalg SpA, a partner company of Solena controller and Solena Group Italy SpA said that the objective of the study is to assess the feasibility of implementing a system for conversion of hundreds of thousands of tons of municipal solid waste (mixed biomass) into biofuel for planes, in order to meet part of the needs of fuel from Alitaliawhich reduces consumption of fuel for aircraft conventional and as a result of emissions of CO2 to the atmosphere (up to 96%). The use of the technology of the Solena group will produce aviation fuel alternative through a process of gasification at high temperature of the waste, which will be transformed into so-called synthesis gas. This gas is converted into liquid through a chemical industrial process called FischerTropsch. Alitalia and Solena believe that this innovative conversion process can contribute to a significant reduction of the emissions of GHG greenhouse (CO2) generated by the fleet of aircraft. Solena Group also plans to involve national and local authorities in the construction project. The technology proposed by the Solena Group also offers a solution to the problem of the dispersion of solid waste in landfills, avoiding emissions harmful to health and the environment. The agreement between Alitalia and the Solena Group is part of the innovative program called Green Sky which has already seen Solena group cooperate with British Airways for the conversion of significant percentages of solid urban waste in the metropolitan area of London in fuel for aircraft operating at Heathrow.

Internal factors are those associates to the complexity derived from the fact of the climatic systems to be chaotic systems not linear. External factors can be natural or antropognicos. The main natural external factor is the variability of the solar radiation, that depends on the solar cycles and the fact of that the internal temperature of the sun comes increasing. Antropognicos factors are those of the influence human being leading to the effect greenhouse, main of which it is the emission of sulfatos that go up until the stratosphere causing depletion of the ozone layer (source: IPCC) Scientists agree that natural internal and external factors can cause significant climatic changes. In the last millenium two important periods of temperature variation had occurred: a known hot period as Hot Medieval Period and a known cold as Small Age of the Ice. The variation of temperature of these periods has similar magnitude to the one of the current heating and is given credit to only have been caused for internal and external factors.

The Small Age of the Ice is attributed to the reduction of the solar activity and some scientists agree that the observed terrestrial heating since 1860 Source is a natural reversion of the Small Age of the Ice (: The Skeptical Environmentalist). However great amounts of gases have been emitted for the atmosphere since that the industrial revolution started, from 1750 the emissions of carbon dioxide had increased 31%, methane 151%, nitrogen oxide 17% and tropospheric ozone 36% (Source IPCC). Most of these gases is produced by the fsseis fuel burning. The scientists think that the reduction of the areas of tropical forests has contributed, as well as the old forests, for the increase of carbon. However new forests in the United States and Russia contribute to absorb carbon dioxide and since 1990 the amount of absorbed carbon is greater that the set free amount in the deforestation.

The most important point in choosing the appropriate investment for most savers security. They prefer to forgo interest, but to put their money in safe savings vehicles such as savings accounts or savings bonds. They, however, give away each year billions of dollars in interest income, for both forms of savings, there are as secure, but much better-yielding alternatives. These alternatives are fixed and money market accounts. Term deposit accounts are the alternative to savings bonds, since both products exactly in its original form over a defined period and laid down interest rate. In the fixed account will earn interest, however, much better than a savings bond and is due to online access is also much easier to manage. For the traditional savings account, there is an alternative to money market account. The duty payable on such an account overnight interest rates are well above those of savings accounts, and are based primarily on market interest rate. Just as well as savings accounts, money market accounts when there is no predefined term andInterest is not permanently fixed, but dependent on the development of the general market rate can be adjusted. In the long term average, money market accounts with interest rates of 4 possible up to 5 percent per year, in the interest on term deposit accounts on average even slightly higher, which is to establish an agreed maturity and the consequent availability of poorer due during this period. In terms of safety, there are two forms of savings observed in only one: that the bank should be a member of the Deposit Insurance Fund, paid for then the investors’ money and earned interest income even in the unlikely event of insolvency of the Credit Institute are covered at a level which no ordinary savers will ever reach. Savings banks and credit unions are uniformly connected and a separate security fund guarantee the deposits of its members in unlimited amounts. Since that this started to be used, in the ends of century XIX, as combustible, it each more important time took a paper. Any doubt does not exist of that the energy is of an extreme importance for the civilization. In fact, it can be said that all the economy is dependent of it. When the sector of transports is observed, for example, more than 90% of fuels used in the world is derived from oil, in accordance with the International Agency of Energia (AIE). It has a strong dependence between the people and coveted ' ' gold negro' ' being in the synonymous present time of ' ' poder' ' wealth. For such problems, solutions in short term do not exist, therefore new forms of energy demand decades of research and development to become economically viable. Up to 2030, according to AIE, the oil and the excessively combustible fsseis will continue to be most of the world-wide energy.

Countries as Japan and France, for example, do not make use of great volume of hdricos resources and have little or no oil. To keep the economy, they import oil and derivatives and, to get electricity, use plants moved with oil and nuclear energy. Thus, it is natural panic reactions when it is said that the oil reserves are close to finishing. The scarcity of the resource would affect the global economy in a brutal way without precedents. But some alternatives exist to brighten up the situation, amongst which the cited one for Ehrlich, would be ones in the ways to adopt: ' ' The economic system also would have to be remodelled of form to reduce the consumption of the rich countries.

Such measure is essential to preserve the environment and not to waste resources you did not renew of planeta' '. (EHRLICH, Paul. The population bomb, San Francisco, 1968).

What Are Biofuels?

Published by:

Biofuels are fuels which are derived from biomass- renewable energy sources made from biological materials. The term biofuels includes solid biomass, liquid fuels and biogases. These energy sources are quickly gaining momentum in the public and scientific worlds as a result of spikes in oil price, and the increasing need of energy security, as well as the concerns regarding greenhouse gas discharges from fossil fuels.
One example of such a biofuel is bioethanol, an alcohol created by the fermentation of sugar components of plants. It is made primarily from crops of sugar and starch. As technology develops, trees and grasses are becoming more usable in the process as well. The ethanol is effective as a fuel for vehicles in its purest form, but is generally added to gasoline in order to improve vehicle emissions and increase octane. Another example is biodiesel.
Investments and interest in biofuels are increasing. In 2007, investment in the field passed $4 billion worldwide. In 2008, biofuels provided 1.8% of the world?s transport fuel.
